Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “Not only is Monster my pick of the week, my copy from the MediaOCD store has already arrived as I write this and it’s in my hands. That said, if Monster wasn’t coming out this week, I’d probably have gone with Apothecary Diaries instead. The only reason my UHD pick this week isn’t Your Name is because we’re also getting a UHD release of Harlan County USA.” Blaine says, “my pick has to be The Mandalorian and Grogu. It’s a great entry to the series. As I try to avoid trailers once I decide to see a movie, and I decided to see this one when it was announced, seeing some of the Star Wars Rebels cast show up was a pleasant surprise.”
That reminds me, I need to pick Poldark up again. I’m a sucker for those PBS/BBC Brit period dramas (the main character is a soldier returned home after losing the Revolution to the Americans).
My daughter saw Hadestown on stage and on the big screen. She says the filmed version is excellent. Does not change anything from the stage version. If you can’t see it on stage (we haven’t been able to score tickets when it’s in town), see the filmed version.
I have yet to hear anything positive about Disclosure Day.
And I’m definitely looking forward to Mandalorian, but will probably wait until it hits Disney+.
