A great character from the early years of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer joins the fun on Angel.

Grr
I hate it when the build the ads from the last few minutes of an episode. I’d have been convinced if I wasn’t waiting for that other footage to show up.
whoa.
I knew it was too good to be true. BAM. awe-some.
My first time
This was the first time I actually ever watched the show. As it was going through the episode, I was very dissapointed. I thought it all to contrived and neat. Oh look, another show that raps things up nicely in one hour. What do they think this is Star Trek?
Well thankfully the ending completely redeemed the show in my eyes. A very good ending.

I can’t think of another episode of this show that wrapped things up nicely in an hour. That was one of the hints about the impending end of the episode. I suggest giving the show another chance, preferably next week, as the episodes seem much better when you see how they fit into a sequence.

I would suggest waiting until next week. As a long time watcher of both Angel and Buffy, I can tell you that this episode most definitely did NOT feel “wrapped up.” The last time Angel slept with the woman he loved (though it was Buffy, then), he woke up Angelus. Since we didn’t get to see Angelus in this ep, I can only assume that their bringing him back next week. There was way too much exposition for me to believe that they are going to throw away the possibility on a one week plot. Keep watching. If you get the chance, rent or download some older eps, or even read the episode guides. A lot of this ep was simply restating some of the older Buffy/Angel mythology that long time viewers know. It might be masked as a one shot, but I highly doubt it really is.
Hints
Looking back at the episode, I can see that several hints were dropped indicating that something wasn’t right.
Wesley tells Gunn to search the shaman’s body, and he does so without comment
Wesley apologizes to Angel
No one knows what the tooth is or where to find it, and Cordelia immediately gets a vision
Gunn and Wesley shake hands
Connor stops whining
Did I miss anything? And what’s up with Angel saying “Buffy” at the end?
