Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “Columbo is the unquestioned leader in every week that includes a release of Columbo.” Alex says, “All The Presidents Men is one of my all time favorite films, and I’m glad to see that it’s getting a proper Blu-Ray release.”
I kinda feel horrible that I was never able to get into Sarah Jane Adventures. I watched part of the first series but it just didn’t do it for me.
This week re-brings a lot of great films, though not in Bureau genres: American Graffiti and Fast Times at Ridgemont High both destroy the limited expectations of the teen genres– AG was Hollywood-changing. (Breakfast Club meets expectations well, without becoming gross).
The Treasure of Sierra Madre, A Beautiful Mind, Seabiscuit, Apollo 13, Schindler’s List……….
The Green Mile has a strong SF element, and should be reviewed some Saturday. Do the Right Thing I find worthwhile, in a time-capsule kind of way.
But none are out for the first time.
What can anyone tell me about Boardwalk Empire?
