Alex: The “Tenchi” portion of this series title is somewhat misleading. While it’s in the same universe as the other Tenchi series, Tenchi Masaki is little more than a guest star in this show.

Notorious |
|
Blaine: The first of three Hitchcock movies released on Blu-Ray for the first time after previous Criterion Collection DVD releases. This one stars Cary Grant, Claude Rains and Ingrid Bergman and is my favorite of the three. Highly, highly recommended.
Rebecca |
|
Blaine: Another great Hitchcock release. This one stars Laurence Olivier, George Sanders, and Joan Fontaine.
Spellbound |
|
Blaine: Hitchcock again, starring Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck.
War | |
Wings | |
Blaine: This is the first movie to ever with the Best Picture Oscar, and has never had an individual DVD or Blu-Ray release. (It was released once in a studio anniversary box with dozens of other titles.) I’ve never seen it, but it’s a “must have” for its place in movie history.
Western |
Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “of those I’ve seen Notorious is a hands down winner. It’s a fantastic movie hitting in a very slow week, as are the other Hitchcock titles. I will also pick up Wings, but that’s the collector in me; I’ve never seen it.” Alex says, “I’m definitely going with The Criterion Collection release of Godzilla, in the highest resolution format you can view.”
