Buffy Discussion – “First Date”

Things are building.

Again with the list of random high points:

  • Flash cards
  • Squeaky shoes
  • Red eye.
  • The fact that the predictable ending still had a big impact.
  • Indications that there may be an underground army.
  • Conversations with the newest potential Slayer.
  • The reunion between Spike and Giles.
  • Andrew’s sigh.

  1. SPOILER
    SPOILER!!!!

Nice to see Joss pull a fast one with with the principal I don’t think a lot of people saw that one coming. Interesting to see how it turns out, grey characters are so much more fun then just plain good and evil, especially since Spike will be able to fight back now. Anyone else find that Jonathens character just wasn’t as good this time around (I liked him more when he was trying to become good again, he just didn’t seem as convincing as pure evil).

      MORE SPOILER

btw Anyone else wonder how the heck Xander was able to send off that message. I mean he was completely tied up.

I did. Perhaps he snuck the cell phone into his hand when he realized what was going on. At least they mentioned the problem with tackling people that I couldn’t figure out last week.

My personal feeling is that he actually sent the “Getting lucky” message (like Willow was suggesting it could have been) before he was tied up and realized there was a nefarious plot.

which would’ve been really funny if he was getting some and they rushed in.

  2. Well…
Not as bad as the previous two eps (or the last three seasons, to be brutally honest about it), but still not anywhere near what Buffy used to be.

What ever happened to the witty, touching, charming, exciting show I used to love?

    Damn you, Mutant Enemy.
