Game of Thrones: Season Two Wrap-Up

There you have it kids, Season 2 is a wrap. And everyone lives happily ever after, right?

Season 3 has been ordered by HBO, but no release date has been set. For those of us without HBO we will have to wait on the DVD release.

So what did you think of the adaptation of the second book in the series, “A Clash of Kings?” Did it live up the first season? Did it live up to the book? What did you like/love/hate/despise?

  1. I haven’t read the books, so I can’t do a comparison there, but….

    Want Season 3 NOW.

I suspect it’ll be next April, though. And if Season 1 was any indication, the DVD release won’t be until March so it can act as a ramp-up to the new episodes.

  2. Copious spoilers ahead.

I haven’t seen the very final episode yet, but the battle at Blackwater didn’t disappoint.

The show has been great overall but it’s the small things that are annoying me. They left out the “chain gate” from the books in the battle which, to me, was a testament to Tyrion’s strategic prowess. Jon Snow is depicted as a whiny klutz, I don’t know why they went in that direction with him. Jaime comes off as a psychopath. Daenerys’ story line has way too much magic going on – the books were much more subtle about that stuff.

Minor stuff in the grand scheme of things but it does some of these characters a disservice in a lot of ways.

Anywho, can’t wait for season 3!
