quecojones writes, According to this article over on Slashdot it seems like the Sci-Fi channel is bringing back Battlestar Galactica! We’ve reported on development and casting before, but now they’ve got a production schedule. Filming starts this month in Vancouver.
Whoop de doo
1. Cancel Firefly
2. Cancel Farscape
3. Remake Battlestar Galaxitive
4. Profit
5. Hire the B&B team to produce the show- it’ right up their alley
6. Profit
Ugh
You know why spend the time and energy attempting to re-tool a classic to show it to a bunch of kids who probably never saw the original and in process alienate those of us who actually do remember the original?
Why not spend your time and money using the original actors and continuing the original story line thus sparking interest in a re-release of the original episodes on collectors edition DVD?
Give me one week behind the helm of the Sci-Fi channel and I could turn a profit.
Re: Ugh
Because Lorne Greene is a bit difficult to contact these days…
Re: Ugh
For any ordinary network maybe, but Sci Fi has John Edward on its payroll!
Re: Ugh
Besides, it’s twenty years after the original aried. How hard is it to write the story line that everyone else has aged 20 years? Lorne Greene’s character would be easy to explain away. Although having John Edwards as part of the cast going “I’m sensing something red moving back and forth. This is troubling to you isn’t it.”
