ABC’s low-rated Pseudo-SciFi/Adventure show has been put on “indefinite hiatus” according to TVGuide Online. The show, in my opinion, was fun for a while but I can definitely see why it never snagged an audience.

Agreed, but not quite as kindly.
I see why it never caught on, but I see why it got approved on ABC. Combine Young Indiana Jones with x-files lite. I watched the pilot and thought it was more suited for syndication than prime-time tv. Then again, it was the pilot, and pilots, on the whole, suck.

They obviously did a poor job of advertising the program. If people don’t know about a program, then they won’t be watching it.

Mondays at 7/8 on ABC. It got some hype over the holidays (it started in Jan), but not much after that. Here’s the Showguide.

I think I caught half a show by accident once. There were these guys and this woman trying to get back a mysterious sphere from some warlord who’s the lackey of a shadowy illuminati-like thingy. And one of the good guys pretended to break the neck of the son of the other good guy and it was lame (IMHO).

Lame? Half-baked Illuminati? Yeah, sounds like either it or Adventure Inc. (*shudder*)

I unfortunately caught the pilot and an additional episode of, Adventure Inc. The pilot stunk, but I think that most pilot episodes stink. I figured that I would give it an additional episode.
I am just wondering who they conned to put up the money.

Yup, that’s it. That was, however, one of the weaker episodes (not that any were that strong). The second or third one wasn’t too shabby – it had Nazis and an evil Lara Croft rip-off that the good guys ended up screwing over (hehe).
Basically the highlight of the series was watching the guy who played the mummy in The Mummy act, as he did a lot better than I thought he would. I think they could have drawn an audience, but they got bumped due to the war and other news briefs for the last few weeks, and they never really hit their stride (I’m hoping the same thing doesn’t happen to The Jimmy Kimmel Show).

I think Kimmel’s show is pretty safe for at least a few months. ABC really wants to prove that they can do late night besides Nightline after their failed attempts to first woo Letterman and more recently to give Jon Stewart a network late-night show.
I’ve been watching Kimmel’s show almost every night (I’ve missed around three so far) and I love it. I thought that the first couple episodes were a little on the weak side, but the increased focus on comedy and getting into a better rhythm with their bits has resulted in the kind of show I like (think early 80s Late Night). Unfortunately, I’m not one of the people ABC is looking to hook since I don’t normally watch late-night television and thus they haven’t “stolen” a viewer from either CBS or NBC.
Check out the Kimmel show if you haven’t, though waiting until after next week might be a good idea – the guest cohost next week is Mike Tyson and that could be either friggin’ hilarious or a giant pain-fest.
