Comments Blaine: Stanley Kubrick directed 16 feature films, 6 of which have never been released on home video. This is one of those six, produced from a Library of Congress copy. Kubrick resisted the release of his first six films, because they were “like the crayon scratchings of a child on his mother’s fridge.” Given the director he became, I’m extremely interested in seeing what didn’t live up to his standards and what he learned from these early films that he considered failures.

Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “go with the Universal Monsters Blu-Ray set if you can support the format.” Alex says, “I’m going with the complete series of Peter Gunn. I’ve seen the first couple seasons and enjoyed them immensely, and would recommend the rest of the series.”
