Synopsis
Sam and Dean hunt monsters on campus. Told mostly from the point of view of the hunted.
High Point
The high point was the break from focusing on Sam and Dean, and a wonderfully told story.
Low Point
We can’t really think of any notable low points for this episode. It was great.
The Review
This episode felt like a breath of fresh air. Just about everything was different and original in this one, except for raising his cholesterol level yet again. We loved this episode. Also, Dean is in new territory and developing as a character. 6/6 for originality!
The effects were superb. The monster scenes weren’t overdone and very believable. The budding superhero scenes were great too. We give the effects a 6/6.
This was fresh, original, very beautiful, and executed perfectly. Mystery, romance, tragedy, horror, violence, a new beginning, and an old soul turning a new leaf. Considering the history between Sam and Dean, the choice Dean made in this episode was a shocker. This is one of those episodes that could have easily been remade into a top grossing Hollywood horror movie. We give the story line of this episode a 6/6 as well.
The acting was amazing. Jared and Jensen didn’t have much to say in this episode, but what they did, they did well, and the emotional impact was felt. As for the trio at the focus of this episode, we hope that we see much more from these actors, especially Brit Sheridan. We gladly give the acting a 6/6.
This episode had us gripped, we dare not take our eyes off the TV. The show was fresh, involving, and very interesting. It was very easy to feel strong emotion for all the main people in the show, and the end brought us shock, amazement and joy. We give this episode a 6/6 for emotional impact.
This one is not like the others. It’s mostly shot from video cameras carried by the main characters, Blair Witch style. There’s even a night vision scene or two that pays homage to the roots without overdoing it. Done with nice and expensive high definition cameras instead of grainy video, the producers give this a very fresh and crisp feel appropriate to the story and characters. We can tell a lot of thought went into this. The production creativity of this episode gets a 6/6.
After a slow start with the first episode of the season, the cast and crew of Supernatural have clearly shown that this program is still very much in it’s prime. It’s great to see them continually re-invent what a Supernatural episode should be. We are hungry to see much more of this kind of creativity. 6/6!

Really? I thought it sort of missed the mark and felt a little too much like an homage (not calling it a rip-off) of Chronicle.
It was different, sure, but I didn’t find it all that amazing.
I agree, it was a decent episode, but not exceptional, certainly not deserving of 42/42. I didn’t find that much emotional investment in the 3 characters, and the documentation of everything felt forced (though I don’t know how they’d do it better). I was also a little annoyed that they had to have Brian be a superhacker, even though there was absolutely no need for it, as well Brian’s choice didn’t make a lot of sense considering what he knew at that point.
Yeah. It didn’t work for me.
The only episode I have ever liked in my entire life where the main characters got a day off was Blink…
