  1. Crab dudes
I missed alot of tht episode. Anyone mind telling me what the hell thoose um demons where? Also Fred and Gunn keep reffering to that guy they killed earlier on. What guy?
I think Jasmines going crazy! lol I just think shes annoying. Eerily Evil.

      What guy?

That would be Fred’s old physics teacher, who it turns out had a nasty
habit of sending talented young pupils to other dimensions. Fred had a
score to settle, it put a strain of the Fred-Gunn relationship.

    • Re: Crab dudes
Angel ported to another dimension to learn Jasmine’s “true name”. In the previous episode a crab dude on earth hinted to Wesley that knowing her true name would weaken her. BTW, the crab dude last week was pretty creative special effects.

I’m getting pretty annoyed with all the Connor storyline stuff. Either snuff him or do somthing, this whole “good guy one week bad guy another” is tedious.

  2. Bloody guest star credits

That ending would have been far more surprising if I didn’t recognize a particular name in the opening Guest Star credits. Still, excellent episode. Loved the Galaxy Quest reference.

Well yeah… but she COULD’VE been just a flashback or something. She didn’t actually have to physically BE there, did she? Wasn’t a complete spoiler…

My first instinct was that it would be a flashback, it’s true, but that idea was shot as soon as they opened the door, before the full reveal. If I hadn’t read the credits, I’d have expected Cordelia.

The question is, is she back from te dead, or is it the crossover Big Bad
          I’ve been expecting?

I think that she’s alive because i remember they dropped a clue that she might still be alive at the end of the episode where she “died”. Then again she could be the First and the fact that she shows up leads Angel to leave L.A. and head toward Sunnydale for the finale next week. And although the Connor thing is annoying, it seems like they’ll actually be sending him in a direction next season. Im betting there’s a 90% chance he’ll be evil.

I think he’ll be against Angel, but not evil per se. He was much too happy
to go along with the “peace on earth” plan to turn out evil. He’s just
              angsty.

According to tvtome Connor is going to get a new life, something to do with Wolfram and Hart.

Wolfman and Hart ..weren’t they like blown up or someting?
Are Cordy and Connor still “going out”? I agree compleltley with Willow. Their relationship is icky. First Cordelia’s all I love you Angel la ta da …then oups! Shes sleeping with his son. You have to wonder what Cordy’s priorities are.?
Although when you think about it the age differences make sense. Since Connor’s 18-19, Cordy’s in her twenties and Angel’s what 200? lol

Her priority was to bring Jasmin to the world. I’m guessing you missed
the show where they explained that bit.

Connor is still lovydovy with the unconcious Cordy, but we still don’t
know what’s up with her. Is she in a coma? Is her soul still on the higher
planes? Is she really who she said she is? How will she feel
about Connor killing his daughter while mom is out of it? Etc.

Now that I think about it. I have seen that episod. The whole thing is still weird though.
You just never know with Cordy…

                    • Re: Bloody guest star credits

K ill answer both you and y24 in this article. The dearly departed Skip explained everything on the episode where Jazzy was born. Something happenned durng one of the green guys reads (his name escaped me for a moment there) that led to Jasmines manipulation of Cordy but i missed quite a few episodes and that was one of them. Ever since then Jasmine was manipulating everything until her birth. That’s at least what i gathered and im sorry if it didnt explain everything. Oh yea and Connors just a wierdo but hey thats what happens when your raised in hell.

I just thank you for mentioning that there was a surprise at the end that had to do with the opening credits. I stopped in here just before I got off work last night (couldn’t help myself) and with your warning I proceeded to studiously ignore the “guest starring” section so that the surprise wouldn’t be ruined for me. I guess that it did exclude Cordy, but still better than knowing for sure. :)

PS- I did, however, have a disturbing vision towards the end of Elizabeth Rohm showing up – fortunately, it was just a nightmare and I was allowed to wake up.

  3. Connor
I was happy with a few Connor related things though. They finally explained the uncured thing. I also think your right with Connor but i wouldnt be surprised if by the end of next season him and Angel finally resolve their issues and work together. I still cant believe that they didnt return Cordy to the crew and how easily Jasmine was beaten. I wonder however how close she is in strength to Caleb from Buffy. The car lifting thing definitly proved to me that all bets are off when it comes to keeping villians on par with heroes. And im not sure but was Jasmine one of the powers that be because she called herself a power that was after Angel took away some of her powers. Did anyone else feel sorry for her at that point cause i almost wanted her to join Angel and his group. Crazy good episode

    • Re: Connor

My understanding is that she was the member of the Powers That Be who cared about this reality. We also know (from the first season finale) that Angel was destined to be a major player in the coming apocalypse, and that survival for him would mean becoming human again. Jasmine certainly made it sound like this was the apocalypse in question, so he should become human very shortly.

As to her strength, I think her physical strength was comparable to Caleb’s, but the fact that her body was a rotting corpse rather than a healthy one makes her much less durable, particularly after a loss in power and a betrayal by someone powerful enough to overpower Angel on more than one occasion. (That last bit might have been due in part to Angel restraining himself, though.) Still, I suspect Connor could actually be the most powerful mortal on either show.

Although I felt her demise was weak, Jasmine was a pretty good villain. She was one of the most believable villains, in that she was doing what she honestly thought was best for this world. I’d like to see what the crab people think of Angel Investigations now, though.

      • Re: Connor

Have you forgotten how quickly and completely Faith cleaned his clock on more than one occasion??? Faith’s strength is comparable to Buffy’s (I suspect she MIGHT be a little stronger since Faith herself is a bigger girl than Buffy) but in a fight it would come down more to fighting skill. Buffy’s had watchers that have trained her from the start. From what I recall of Faith’s history, she had problems with Watchers, so I’m GUESSING here that Buffy might have the better fighting skills. Plus, living on the Hellmouth, she would’ve had more practice.

As for Connor, well… he may be down on strength, but he did spend his entire LIFE fighting for survival in that Hell dimension. Makes Faith’s smacking around of him look even that more impressive!

        • Re: Connor

(I suspect she MIGHT be a little stronger
since Faith herself is a bigger girl than Buffy)

I agree with your whole post except that bit. I really don’t think
that the size of the slayer reflects her strenght. The magic strenght is
definatly not based on the size of the muscles…unless…hmmm.
Well, I’ll retract that statement if it turns out that Caleb has slayer
strenght in a man’s body (pure speculative fun), but I doupt it because
he was as much faster than Buffy as he was stronger.

The slayer power does not alter the Slayer’s physical appearance (Well,
Buffy’s look changed a lot when she went from the big screen to TV, but
that’s not the same thing ; ). She did not get hulk bulk-up, she was just
magically super strong all of a sudden. She had good muscle tone to
start with (cheerleaders have good muscle tone), and she keeps training,
but the strenght comes from something else than her muscles, even if
she needs her muscles to use it.
Now, the strenght difference between Buffy’s muscles and Faith’s
muscles means Faith is in fact stronger than Buffy, but the slayer strengh
is SO strong that that difference is inconsequencial. (IMHO, IANAL, BYOB,
          etc)

I’m guessing it was the element of surprise. She never expected Connor to double cross her. She KNEW Angel was trying to kill her.

            • Re: Connor
There is that, yes. And who says Jasmine’s actually dead? If she is/was one of the Powers That Be, then would killing her corporeal form actually cause her any serious problems other than setting all her plans back to square one? Somehow I doubt it.

Thats a good possibility but i doubt that they’ll bring her back. I think she’s definitly dead because when Angel got that thing to say her names she lost most of her powers and that most likely included her being a Power. Thats the gamble you take when you transcend mortal dimensions in an attempt to enslave people into peace….not that i would know (shifty eyes)

I figured it was because he’s her dad, similar blood and all that.

No way it was definitly the element of surprise at point blank range. Plus Angel was probably weak after his fight on Arachna-world and he was thrown off a bridge.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that he was an integeral part of bringing her into that world (the Guardian guy in the other dimension said something like that to Angel, right?). We know that Conner already saw Jasmine as she was, so perhaps it’s much like Cordy’s blood affecting people in the same way as Jasmine’s – being her father/summoner, Conner had the ability to hurt her. That’s the only explaination I can think of that would work.
