  1. It will be a long, long wait
Dammit, I can’t wait that long, there better be DVD’s in the meantime to
    tide me over.

  2. I’ll take what I can get
but Whedons style of plot arcs and super developed characters really only hits its full potential when given a full show to develop in.

Granted, But He’s Already Started The Characters, I’m sure He Can Cram Enough In To Make It Good.

The Question Is Will He Be Able To get Away With His Kinda Television Show Tricks (No Explosions In Space? No Lasers?!) With A Movie Studio.

Granted most Hollywood studios (and audiences) aren’t used to the idea of space being silent, but this is not a trick, it’s reality.

  3. Star Trek parallels
maybe this movie is all that he will need for everyone else to see that
Firefly is one of the ‘good’ shows that no one watched.

Isn’t this the same thing that happened to Trek:TOS, the show had fair
rateings and was cannceled. But then the movie came out and a bunch
of mainstream people became interested in it. Or maybe I have my
    history wrong.

That was after a few years of reruns and Trek conventions had built up a large underground Trek fanbase.

I’m hopeful but I doubt that most people will be able to get past their preconceptions of what sci-fi has been to see what sci-fi can be. Lots of people couldn’t get past the high tech/low tech mix of Firefly to enjoy the stories.

Yeah, its like these people have never seen a post-apocalytic movie
        before…weird.

  4. A Little Scared
Whilst I’m as happy as anyone to have Firefly live on, even if it’s only for a couple hours on the big screen (I just prefer serial television, doggone it), am I the only one with a little trepidation thinking about a Joss Whedon-penned movie? The poor fellow has had his share of troubles with getting his vision past movie execs and directors in the past, so I certainly hope that he gets a writer/director deal. Otherwise, I’m very afraid.

  5. Probable Movie Subject
Reavers. They do things so gruesome that you can’t show it on a TV screen.

  6. Ratings
It would be hard for any new show to get good ratings when a full third of the episodes are preempted for the World Series.
