Of everything in there, I hung onto the phrase “agent.” Section 31 anyone?

I gotta say that the new Star Trek films are a little too SciFi action flick for me. I appreciate the need for some fights and explosions but if that’s all there is there just doesn’t seem to be a lot of point.
I agree with the guy from Red Letter Media. The new Trek films are good, but they’re not Trek. They’re (cue echo effect) “Generic! Space! Adventure! Movie!”
Yeah, I wonder if that’s a side-effect of being too far removed from a TV series, they’re scared to do real Trek since the actors don’t have an established chemistry or relationship of their own.
Or maybe someone just needs to take JJ Abrams FX budget away.
