Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “My Pick is Doctor Who – Inferno. It’s the last story with Liz Shaw, and it’s one of the few cases where they managed to make the 7 Episode story format work without any padding or filler.” Blaine says, “I haven’t watched my copy of Wild Strawberries yet, but I’ve loved every other Ingmar Bergman movie I’ve seen. I’ll also be picking up the Doctor Who releases at some point as part of my quest to own the entire classic series in addition to the new one. I haven’t seen either of those two yet.”
Sneakers is one of my all-time favorite movies. My usual dilemma applies here though: I have the DVD, and I’m not sure a Blu-Ray upgrade would be worth it for this film. I’m not sure there is much to gain there, since the movie doesn’t really have any flashy effects or things that might lend themselves to being enhanced by the higher resolution.
If I had Sneakers on DVD I would definitely not be upgrading to blu-ray. It is a good movie though an I don’t have it on any format (:
“Person of Interest” season one was released in BluRay/DVD combo pack. It’s the only way to get the BluRay version of the show in a North American domestic release, it appears.
