The Premise

NERV’s test facility has been destroyed while attempting to fit the S3 engine into EVA Unit-04. This leads to Unit-03 being sent to Tokyo-3, and the recruitment of another pilot.

High Points

The bonding scenes between Toji & Shinji over his being chosen are very well written, and serves as a nice emotional climax to their arc.

Low Points

I’ve always been bugged by the fact that nobody thought of the idea of having 2 Evas attack the angel at once – one keeping it busy, while the other cuts out Toji’s plug.
