I have to figure out if it’s worth rebuying the last three to get Earthshock.

Comments Blaine: I spent most of the premiere trying to figure out why the actor playing Lestrade was so familiar. I looked him up afterwards: I haven’t seen Sean Pertwee in anything but Equilibrium, which I didn’t remember him from. He seemed familiar because he’s the son of Jon Pertwee, and has many of the same mannerisms.

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, ” I have it on good authority that the remaster of The Wizard of Oz is incredibly well done, and definitely worth checking out. Additionally, if you have a 3D TV, apparently the 3D post conversion is done incredibly well.” Blaine says, “take your pick of the rereleases: Doctor Who, Columbo, Wizard of Oz, Torn Curtain on Blu-Ray, etc. Additionally, if you don’t have a 3D TV, take a hard look at 3D projectors. I found they are much cheaper, so that’s the route I took.”

  2. I know Volcano is ridiculous but for some crazy reason, I still like it.

    I need to rent/stream This is the End as soon as possible. I’m currently without a DVD-by-mail plan so that means either waiting for it to show on Netflix (if it ever will) or actually going to the video store.

  3. I just completed watching the complete series of ‘Foyle’s War’, starring Michael Kitchen. I was thinking throughout the viewing that it reminded me a great deal of ‘Columbo’. Peter Falk’s character was a bit annoying, but he had the same obtuse way of finding out what really happened in the end. I’m curious as to how well Columbo holds up after 30+ years.
    On another note, I’ve been holding off buying any ‘Downton Abbey’, but I’ll have to take a closer look at this weeks’ release; I also was wanting the previous special edition of ‘The Wizard of Oz’, so I’ll definitely be checking that out.
