Comments This is not a mistake. It’s a pre-order for the upcoming 50th Anniversary special. You will also get An Adventure in Time and Space, the docudrama about the creation of the series, but that’s not available yet.

Comments In the 1960s, Doctor Who was so popular that two of the serials were adapted for the big screen. These were loose adaptations, with Peter Cushing playing the Doctor as a human being. This is one of those adaptations. It’s in the UK and US iTunes stores, but not yet in the Canadian store, so I can’t confirm that it does have the same release date as the Amazon version in Canada, but I sincerely hope it does.

Comments Alex: Superhero anime, with a darker tone than the earlier “Tiger & Bunny”

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “This week I’m going with the extended edition of The Hobbit, with an additional note that if you’ve been picking up the Patlabor collections, you should probably pick up part 3 of the TV series as well.” Blaine says, “if you don’t have the relaunched Doctor Who in your collection yet, then this major oversight needs to be corrected this week. Otherwise, The Hobbit is tempting, although I’ve decided to hold out on ownership until I see how successfully they expand the entire thing into nine hours.”

  1. I’m certain the Hobbit extended addition will have some interesting extras but, honestly, hasn’t Jackson already extended it quite enough?

  2. Note: the font for the titles appears to be tiny.

I can vouch for the quality of Farscape on Blu-Ray. The remastering/transfer are spectacular.

    • For some reason, if we edit the article in visual mode instead of HTML mode it replaces all <font size=”+1″> tags with <span font: size-xxsmall> tags instead. It’s remarkably annoying.
