Premise

The Governor wanders the land, and becomes a hero to a small family of survivors.

High Point

This week’s zombie scenes are unusually affecting. In particular, I think of the killing of the Tub Zombie, and the broader significance of the rest-home Walkers.

Low Point

I understand why the opening meandered, but it meandered a little too long.

The Scores

Originality: 4/6 They’ve never had an episode before that entirely disregards the main cast.

Effects: 6/6 Double-amputee tub-zombie.

Story: 4/6 We have a prologue, but focuses on its story in a way that most of the other episodes are not.

On a backstory note, this group survived for a significant amount of time without learning much about zombies.

Acting: 5/6

Emotional Response: 5/6

Production: 5/6

Overall: 5/6 We have a redemption story—up to this point. We do not know for certain what happens when we return to the end of the previous episode.
