Twin Peaks!! I was totally hooked on that show. To bad its final episode was a bit of a letdown.
I really felt mixed about voting there. I thought the first few episodes were absolutely brilliant, but that it went into a tailspin after that. But yes, the early episodes were like nothing television had done before. (Note: there was a mysterious murder of a young blonde woman locally just before the show premiered, so it raised the creepiness level to uncomfortable levels. Tragic, of course. They found their likely perpetrator many years later, but he killed himself rather than be taken in).
A quick mention – the show “Count of Monte Christo” on the list is referring to the anime series Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Christo. There wasn’t a live action SF adaptation for TV of The Count of Monte Christo from 2004.
