Electromagnent
Another freak of the week. Not bad though. I’m not sure that I understand why Chloe didn’t call the cops when she caught the guy breaking in.
I liked the Clark’s quick thinking at the end but can explain to me how the magnetic reversal thing worked or if that made sence at all. (My physics is a bit rusty. (-: )

Giving the guy his powers has no basis in physics, so taking
them away is pure guesswork. Electricity and magnetism are
closely related (as magnetic fields are simply electric fields in
motion) so it’s about as plausible as anything else.

*electro*magnetic fields are electric fields in motion… but I think you can fry magnets with electric current. In any case, I’m not sure Clark was thinking about that as much as just finding a handy weapon to do in the bad guy without showing off any superpowers to Lana. Too bad too, he *was* really cute ;-)
This episode was another primarily Luthor story though; the freak of the week was a B plot while Jr takes over the blackmailing duties from Chloe, though it looks like next week that might backfire…
Re: Electromagnent
Myself having absolutely no basis for this explanation in any know physics, I submit this:
You know how magnets, when set against each other, attract when the poles are opposite (N against S). Well that is the entire theory behind why he was drawn in.
Now why did he lose his powers? Who knows? I call it the “person who loses their memory when they are hit on the head, and regains it when they are hit on the head again” theory.

Ahh… the T&J Syndrome (Tom and Jerry) ;-)
Freaks for Lana
Why is it every single mutated person always crosses her path one way or another? Could they not pick someone else? Guess it would not have peaked Clark’s interest as much otherwise.

I want to know why she hasn’t started directing some fairly pointed questions at Clark – he’s done something blatantly obvious/suspicious pretty much every episode since the premiere (with the most blatant thing being the lead bulletproof vest, so thankfully this week wasn’t that bad), and yet she hasn’t caught on.
Either Lana’s completely oblivious, or she already knows and just wants him to come out and tell her to her face. Now, if this were Chloe, I’d go with option #2, but Lana… well, as was said, every single mutated person always crosses her path, and she has no clue until Clark saves her.
Also, what’s up with her crazy about-face on the whole mutant/freak issue? Isn’t this the same girl who was applauding the psychopathic FOTW sniper killer a few weeks back for getting rid of dangerous freaks, yet now she has no problem with a boy who can control EM fields? *rap rap rap* Hello? McFly? Am I the only person bugged by this?

She applauded killing the guy that was drowning her, not freaks in
general, and this week she was under mind controll by a freak making
her like him…

Well, she did wear a kryptonite pendant for years and years…I guess her
mutant power is being irresistible to other metahumans.
