Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “if you can afford it, get the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes collection – Brett’s Holmes is almost entirely unmatched (with the exception of Benedict Cumberbatch).” Blaine says, “I haven’t seen any of Brett’s Holmes yet, but that and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (reviews starting this weekend) are the most appealing titles here.”
Do those iTunes Season Subscriptions really count as “release”? I mean, I can pre-order a whole buncha stuff that’s not out yet on Amazon, right?…
iTunes lets me sort by “release date,” but the release date for TV is the day the season is available for sale. Most TV seasons are even starting with some bonus content, so there is something there to download and watch already. Listing them for the week the new season starts makes more sense, but it is much more time consuming on my end. This is the “happy medium” I can work with.
