Gotham Discussion: “Penguin’s Umbrella”

Gotham gives us mob conflict over the Penguin, Jim Gordon in some danger, and Victor Zsasz out to kill.

Honk, honk.

  1. I really liked this episode. My wife and I started watching it at 1:30AM, just to see the begining. We ended up staying up to watch the whole thing. Paid for it though this morning.

    • It was a good one, for sure, though that may be in part because it was heavy on Penguin and he’s one of the best parts of the show. I especially liked the “money”/”weakness” part. It seemed like the sort of gag you’d see the Joker pull

I also liked Gordon’s “not taking this shit anymore” attitude with the warrants and a possible path to redemption for Harvey, and a turnaround for the MCU officers now that they know for sure Gordon was good and being played.

Fish didn’t manage to corrupt the episode too much, probably since she was getting put down the whole time.

No Catgirl, no Nygma, seems they really are getting the hang of “less is more” when it comes to using the whole cast.

      • This looks like the episode where its hitting its stride. Its the kind of episode where you can see Gordon being Gordon. I did like that none of the cops came to help him from within the station and they cleared out – had they come to help it would have been too convenient.
