Premise

The team comes up with a plan to find the city they have just learned about. Meanwhile, Bobbi learns about Whitehall, Ward goes back to his family, and Coulson meets Skye’s father.

High Point

The Ward story is still keeping me guessing, which is a rare and welcome thing.

Low Point

They finally have actions for Tripp and this is what he gets? He doesn’t need events, he needs a story. I’m hoping that he hasn’t had a story yet this season because it starts here.

The Review

This takes some original turns, and some that support the spoiler guarded theory in last week’s review. I give it 5 out of 6.

The effects were well done, even if most were established in previous episodes. I give it 5 out of 6.

The story starts with a slightly slower pace this week, but it picks up speed significantly at the midpoint that moves forward the character arcs for our entire cast. I give it 5 out of 6.

The acting is well done, particularly with the new recurring cast. I give it 5 out of 6.

The production is very well done. The structure of the reveals is excellent, and the editing between eras brings it all together. I give it 5 out of 6.

The emotional response is spectacular, particularly in the last 15 minutes. I give it 6 out of 6.

Overall, it’s another strong chapter. I give it 5 out of 6.

In total, The Things We Bury receives 36 out of 42.

  1. I have to say I agree with just about everything you said – including how they used Tripp this time around. :-\

It was beautifully refreshing to see the team as a team once again. That, I think, is where the strength of the show lies. The arbitrary drama (like the damage to the Fitz-Simmons relationship) is frustrating and disappointing, to me.
