I haven’t been watching Smallville, but I tuned in last night. It would be nice if, conflicting rumours aside, Adam West, oops, Dark Knight, oops, Adam Knight did turn out to be the Man from Gotham. They’re handling the mystery of his character, in the context of the series, well, and it adds an interesting level if this is how it turns out.

I am still wondering how we’re supposed to believe anyone Clark knows won’t know he’s Superman. He zipped from the apartment, with Lex, to the Kent farm, where Chloe was under attack, in moments. Lex isn’t ever going to hear about this?

The first time I heard that rumor I rhought it was nonsense and he would turn
out to be another of Lana’s freaky boy toys, but after last week’s
        shower heroics and subsequent l33t c0mput3r sk1llz, I gotta say, I’m
conviced he does have the biggest and coolest basement ever.

Brainiac will show up and somehow suck up these people’s memories…or
some such like. They’re going to use a Berman-worthy cheap shot, IMO.

And this episode’s dash to get the coach out of the way of the car was about as public as it could get. The “oh, come on, somebody should have figured it out by now” count is really mounting. I wonder if they’ll ever look at addressing this or just assume the audience is as amnesiac and incapable of putting one and one together as the Smallville population itself? It’d be a great plot move, if probably difficult to pull off.

Does somebody on the writing team have an unfortunate history and ensuing issues with sports coaches? So far, any coach with significant air time is a homicidal maniac!

          Sounds like my coaches…

You have a point about the figurint it out part though…especially that kid
with the power from that XFiles ep, he should have figured it out!
          Argh!

Why should he have figured it out? I mean, the only way
he’d predict the loss of his powers is if he had predicted
the moment and circumstances of his own death, and really,
what are the odds that a teenage boy would bother to touch
            himself?

            Right. Scratch that.

Ya know, that reads even funnier than I think you intended.

      Angel Angel Angel Angel

      Cordy Cordy!

      Spike It’s Spike… Ooooohh… It’s Spike!!!!

The weirdest thing is that you managed a whole post that was correctly
      capitalised…creepy.

It’s Easy When All The Words Are Proper Nouns.

  1. look over there, its anything but Clark kent using Super powers!
First off, the characters have never heard of superman, so why would they be looking for well.. a super man. Was anyone staring at clark when he sped over and saved the coach? or did they just hear the screech, and turn just in time to see clark pushing him, i doubt anyone would have seen where he started out from.
If people aren’t looking for something, how often do they find it? Spotting Clark using his powers is like Where’s Waldo, I mean SURE if you know where to look, but if not, you blink you missed it.
In addition, Clarks been getting his ass kicked every other episode, when he shows up bruised and bleeding and obviously as mortal as anyone else, why suspect other wise?
Lex and Lana comparing notes? You’re right, the first thing I do in a crisis is checkn my watch so I can log the incident, oh wait, bound to a post… It looks like Lana cant see her watch and Clark’s identity continues to remain a secret, lucky thing too, his disguise isnt fool proof till he busts out those square glasses.
Sorry for going ballistic, but NEVER compare Smallville to Voyager or Enterprise, its just not right.
Wheres the Enterprise reviews anyway, i miss seeing people mock them, don’t TELL me you take them seriously now

Obviously, we suspend a fair bit of disbelief when we watch a show like this. Obviously, the inspiration for the entire Superman phenom was a cheap comic aimed at little kids 60+ years ago. However, the more they attempt a consistent internal reality, the better the show will be.

The show’s characters talk. Either Lex or Chloe are going to learn that Clark went from Metropolis to Smallville in x time.

Or, if they don’t, this sort of thing happens regularly in the show. Someone will learn something.

Eventually, a Superman who looks like Clark will appear. Lex Luthor will be his enemy. It would be good internal consistency if we could believe that Lex would have no good reason to know Clark is Superman. Instead, Smallville has established a background where the entire population of the town should immediately realize who Superman is.

I think that “Clark’s secret” will turn out to be that he knew about
superman all along! He was protecting him

And they will need some kind of mind controll thing to pull it off (possibly on
        us).

How’s Fake Lois Lane gonna go about pretending not to know Clark Kent
from Smallville and make fun of his small town origins anyhow? Either bitchy
contemp comes from the heart or she’ll learn some great acting skills in
        between.
