Apart from escaped llamas and colour-perception-challenging dresses, the Web has been alight this week with commentary on Adi Shankar and Joseph Kahn’s dark, high-budget fan-film take on Power Rangers starring Katee Sackhoff. This version would receive an R rating, so be warned.

This is a really interesting dark take the Power Rangers. I would probably go to a full length feature film of this, even though I have never ever watched a full episode of the TV show.
The Dark Take on Some Beloved Kids’ Character has been done to death and rarely amounts to more than desecration-as-entertainment, but this one actually works.
Catch it now. Sounds like the original creators of Power Rangers are trying to pull it down.
