Premise
Lady Sif is on Earth, but has no personal memories of any kind. Meanwhile, Hunter considers his role on the team and Skye tries to hide her secret.

The Review
This is taking the series in original directions, as we learn more about Bobbi and Mack’s plan and the Kree are formally introduced as a species. I give it 5 out of 6.
The effects have been seen before, but they’re all done well. At no time was I confident that I could point to the pixel at which the live action footage ends and the CGI begins. I give it 6 out of 6.
The story is well structured, and definitely helping to move things toward the season finale. Knowing that this is episode 12 of 22, I really wonder what is in store for the rest of the season, which won’t end until after Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out. I give it 5 out of 6.
The acting is very good from all of the regulars, and Eddie McClintock is a welcome addition for his (one time?) appearance. I give it 5 out of 6.
The production is excellent, with camera angles chosen to support the effects budget in fight scenes while still keeping things interesting enough to keep things interesting. There are few shows on the air that are planned this effectively in advance. I give it 6 out of 6.
The emotional response is very good. It feels more like episode 18 of 22, not episode 12. I give it 5 out of 6.
Overall, we’ve got a great episode once again. This show has been one of the strongest on the air since the release of Captain America: Winter Soldier last year. I give it 5 out of 6.

I couldn’t agree more about the secrets. I was hoping that Simmons would discover the secret later in and become an eventual bad guy working to bring down the inhumans like Senator Kelly from the X-Men. That she would start to work on an anti-inhuman weapon like Trask. I guess that it could still happen though. Just seems like they didn’t let the secret ferment long enough.
I’m actually glad they didn’t let the secret that was revealed this ep go too long, as there are enough secrets going around as it is.
Although having said that, I really miss having a team that was actually working together. All the infighting and drama is a little tiring to me.
I do think this is building to a pro-supers vs. anti-supers for civil war – and that Bobbi and Mack are on the established anti-supers side. I think that is all going to flare up by the end of Avengers, which will lead us to the build-up into Civil War, next year.
I think getting the secret out in the open now is a good move. It allows them to focus on getting her in control of the powers instead of her having to hide things which wouldn’t work well long-term anyhow.
It still leaves plenty of room for those who are against inhumans/miracles/supers to conspire in secret rather than out in the open now that one of “them” is part of the team.
I find the state of HYDRA to be a little confusing, does that mean that after the events of last episode that the latest HYDRA organization is effectively destroyed? I got that they struck a significant blow but HYDRA seemed too big to be gone after a couple missions like that.
As for Sky’s secret being out I actually don’t mind. The “I’m going to keep this personal thing secret because I’m worried my friends won’t like me if they found out” secrets tend to get a bit tedious, no one really thinks that anyone would openly turn against Sky after finding out. The Bobbi/Mack secrets seems a lot more interesting, team members, probably good guys, with a conflicting purpose? That’s a good reason for a conspiracy!
I think the state of HYDRA is wounded. Von Strucker is clearly the top dog, but the chain of command has lost several key links. It appears to be positioned to be set aside and to give us a new “big bad” for season three.
Do NOT make Simmons a bad guy!
