Harry Potter 8?

In an online interview, J.K. Rowling

allegedly kinda sorta hinted
that maybe there might be an eighth Harry Potter book, after maintaining for years that she would stop at seven.

How much weight should be placed on incredibly vague quotes like this one, that are probably being taken out of context anyway? And how many more years do we have to wait before we see the sixth and seventh books? (I’d start a betting pool, but there’s a good chance many of us will die of old age before there’s a winner.)

  1. Who cares
I read one, count it, one harry potter book, and I think that was about enough to make me want to burn the lot of them. Not for witch craft or anything so silly as that. It is just that Harry Potter seems to stimulate that one part of my brain that makes me want to throw things. I really can’t quite explain it.

Interesting how it’s one of those things that people tend to really really hate or just like a lot. Or love to bits, but I don’t trust those people :-P

Sixth book should be out next year I think, seventh will probably take 1.5-2 years after that at a vague guess and from past experience. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an eighth book but I would very much doubt we’d see anything else. A glimpse into Harry’s life as an adult would be good though (assuming he survives – but I think he will), and provide suitable fodder for the fanfic writers to make Harry Potter eternal.

Then it will end with Harry taking a ship and sailing west into Valinor.

Nah, Rowling’s already shown that Merlin existed in Harry’s world, so he’ll probably end up on Avalon in the end.

What do you think this is Lord of The Rings? The books aren’t THAT similar, they just are both imaginative and well thought out and both have good movies.

Yeah, I sometimes get uncontrollable urges to beat the living crap out of those who insult my favorite books… (hint hint)

  2. My guess
“Harry, because you were too busy adventuring to keep up with your classes, we’re going to have to hold you back for another year.”

Harry Potter, the boy who lived, fail not a class, but an entire year?! Hell no! Not a chance! How dare you insult the boy who defeated He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, You-Know-Who, the Dark Lord Voldemort!

You never know he could fail an entire year. When you read the 6th book did you picture Harry leaving Hogwarts no!, and leaving everyone else especially Ron, Hermione, Cho, and Ginny!

That would kick ass! Both Cho and Hermione realize their long suppressed feelings for Harry. Harry is a pimp and asks them both out and they both give him the time of his life!

  4. Eighth year
Hogwarts offers an eighth year for special career training.

Harry and Ron, wanting to become Aurors, stay with Hermione, who wants to supposedly work with magical animals or something. The threat of Voldemort assumedly gone, a new evil arises: his brother trying to avenge him by controlling the minds of Hogwarts students. Well, Harry, Ron, and Hermione will have their hands full taking down their enemies, not to mention their friends…

That’s a question Iv’e been asking myself since i read the 5th book.
      Just a question!!!!!
