Rumor: Enterprise Gets (Limited) Renewal

SyFy Portal has the scoop. Basically UPN has signed off on 12 (half the usual) episodes for next season. That could be extended to 24 if it can perform well. Apparently the new direction is working for the ratings, or has at least stopped the bleeding.

It is, however, unclear as to whether or not Berman and Braga will still be running the show.

  1. Yup
… they have noticed a change…. Bermans mother has started watching again!

  2. about freakin time
The bad thing about TV networks is that they are very slow to recognize the problem and get things done.

The good thing about TV networks is that they love money and when they start to lose it, they will eventually find the leak and plug it or remove the leaky fixture altogether.

I for one hope that B&B are gone, and I hope Enterprise succeeds. The potential is there, they just need to not screw it up. I’m actually suprised that enterprise is getting potentially axed this quickly. Voyager made it awhile before people in power realized that it sucks.

Actually, Voyager made it the same number of seasons as TNG and DS9. I don’t know if they contemplated an eighth season (based on the subsequent careers of the actors, they probably did – contracts wouldn’t be an issue), but it certainly didn’t get cut prematurely.

My point exactly. It sucked but it took the huge organization awhile to figure it out. Enterprise is getting noticed (for being sucky) quickly, which is odd, but good.

It is an unwritten Star Trek rule that all Star Trek Series are only 7 Seasons long.

Just look at all the past series – exactly 7 seasons. It would not have been
possible to make an 8th Season of Voyager (as much as I loved the show) – it
        would break tradition.

It’s a tradition that’s meant to keep a Star Trek series from becoming too stale…

  3. Hmm
I want a Dallas like ‘wake up that morning and someone you thought was dead steps out of teh shower and it was all a bad dream’

Then the Romulan War can start.
