Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “I’d hold off until February if you buy physical product. Otherwise, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is great. I’ve heard mixed reviews for Spectre, which is currently the only James Bond movie I’ve never seen.” Alex says, “Terror in Resonance is on my to-watch list.”
‘General Spanky’ sounds like something a very different site than this one should be reviewing!
Not a great week for viewers of the SF/Fantasy/Horror genres, but the 1992 Of Mice and Men is the definitive adaptation, Inside Llewyn Davis deserves at last one view, and Gilda— I have no idea, but it’s supposed to be a classic. I mostly enjoyed the novel/graphic novel that is Diary of a Teenage Girl and plan to see the movie, even if it played few theatres and made it to video in record time. Either they didn’t do a great job, or the problematic nature of the story meant the studio couldn’t get behind it. The book has a cult following; perhaps the film will as well.
Continuum is good but lost some direction in this last (short, 6 episode) season. I wouldn’t buy it, as it will undoubtedly be available on Netflix for streaming.
