Discussion: Arrow’s “Sins of the Father” and Legends’ “White Knights”

Due to laziness, illness, and a general lack of discussion on these shows, I’m posting them together this week.

  1. That was a heck of a twist last night on Arrow. I gotta hand it to them, I did not see that coming. This is definitely one of the best of the season.

Also, am I the only one who thinks Nyssa is going to show up at Oliver and Felicity’s wedding to object?

      • That is certainly one way to object…

I don’t think they’ll ever kill her. She is too much of an audience surrogate/Mary Sue, sure some people would cheer but many more would be extremely upset.

That said, my current prediction is, aside from my spoiler in the previous message: Felicity will find out about Oliver’s son in probably the worst possible way and she’ll get mad and the wedding won’t finish (or even happen yet).

Hoping they surprise me and not have it turn out that way, but that appears to be what they’re setting up.

  2. I still think it’s stupid to bring villains on your save-the-world mission, but Snart totally MVPed this episode.

I mean other than that the entire episode was one big plot-hole, but…

    • Capt. Cold is more of a reluctant anti-hero, his brother is more of a straightforward villain though as time goes on they’re both coming around. They do seem to help out a lot more on the infiltration and theft angles of the missions, though.

I am *really* disappointed that they didn’t make more references to the Actor’s pasts in this episode. Missed opportunities in the episode:
      * Alias references to Jack Bristow (Garber) already knowing Russian, having spy experience, knowing how to handle Russian women, etc.
      * Chuck references to Daniel Shaw (Routh) being a spy or at least looking like one. He did say he always wanted to be a spy, but c’mon, that’s weak. They could have also used Volkoff for the villains last name, etc.
      * References to Michael Scofield (Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Purcell) knowing all about how to effect a Prison Break from a Gulag…
