This week sees a
shipping list that includes the reprint of
Daredevil Vol. 7: Hardcore, which means I
can finally get up to date on this title, both
reading and reviewing, as well as Essential
Spider-Man Vol. 6, featuring the death of Gwen
Stacy and the new Green Goblin, Exiles #48,
wrapping up Tom Bedard’s first story on the title,
Ultimate Fantastic Four #6, finishing the
first story arc and paving the way for a new creative
team next month, and Ultimate Spider-Man
#60, which kicks off the new Carnage storyline.
Daredevil will be later
My copy of Daredevil: Hardcore isn’t in yet, so
that review will be later than expected. I’m two issues
into Essential Spider-Man Vol. 6 right now, and
hope to review the first six issues of Ultimate
Fantastic Four this weekend. (I’ll also try to
review Axiomatic Set Theory by Patrick Suppes,
but that’s no comic.)
Incidentally, Exiles is recovering from its
slump, and Ultimate Spider-Man is looking to have
an excellent basis for the Carnage story arc coming up.
Exiles, UFF
The new Exiles issue was better than I expected. I’m guessing we might also expect Nocturne to turn up in one of the other X-books in the near future, though I’m not at all sure which or on what side.
UFF’s new writer will be … Warren Ellis! Huh.
There was another issue of BPRD this week, too. I have no idea what they’re up to.
Re: Exiles, UFF
I’m not betting on an X-book just yet. She was reminded
that there are alternatives to being an X-Man in this
universe. She also reminded us that Nightcrawler could
deal with being her father in an alternate dimension, but
we haven’t yet seen the Scarlet Witch’s reaction. My
guess is that she’ll pop up in the “Avengers Disassemble”
event before it’s all said and done.
Utlimate Spiderman
Damn if I didn’t have USM on my reserve list I’d be pissed. The issue had a great cover of carnage but nothing in it about him, that’s like the terrible misleading covers from the 70s >_
