Comments Alex: So, Hard Target was a crappy action film whose primary strengths were the presence of Jean-Claude Van Damme in front of the camera and John Woo behind it. We have here a sequel with neither John Woo’s directorial stylings nor Jean-Claude Claude Van Damme’s screen presence, made decades after the original film came out.

WWE Presents: The History of the Hardcore Championship
Amazon
  • Blu-Ray: US, CAN
  • DVD: US, CAN
Comments Alex: This is a title I thought the WWE wanted to forget. Also, there are a slew of other titles that the WWE has rights to that you’d think there’d be more of a market in covering (including the AWA title, and the ECW World and Television titles)

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “I’m going with Char’s Counterattack. It’s gorgeously animated, though it does have some problems with Char’s characterization compared to his character in earlier series.” Blaine says, “I would go with the Star Trek collection if you don’t already own it. Although I’ve only seen the first season, I also expect this to be a great season of The Flash.”

One reply

  1. I never saw Tales from the Darkside, though I remember the (possibly local) commercial that used the Eddie and the Cruisers song. Is the series worth watching? Likewise, I really liked the book Friday Night Lights and liked the movie, but I’ve never seen the show? Should it go on the “eventually watch” list?

    Anyone?
