These are the DVDs that caught my eye for a July 6
release, with genre and non-genre clearly
distinguished.
The July 6 releases include the following genre
releases:
- Batman:
The
Animated Series: Vol. 1: As mentioned last week,
this one has been
pre-ordered, and is expected to include a coupon for
admission to
Catwoman, so that’ll likely be reviewed as
well. This set
includes the first 28 episodes of the animated Batman
series, so we’re
expecting three volumes in the end. - The
Butterfly
Effect: Despite my interest in the premise, I
never did see this
movie. - Challenge
of
the Super-Friends Season One: The complete first
season of the
series. This, along with last week’s Wonder Woman
set and this week’s
Batman set, should include admission to Catwoman.
It’s like they’re
afraid superhero fans won’t see the movie if they
actually have to pay
for it… - Star
Trek
Voyager Season Three: The complete third season
of the series. - Escape
To
Witch Mountain: I loved this as a kid. - Return
To
Witch Mountain: This one didn’t thrill me as
much.
The July 6 releases include the following non-genre
releases, but
they’re cool anyway:
- The
Name of
the Rose: Decent little mystery story. - Shadows,
Lies,
and Private Eyes – The Film Noir Collection:
Butterfly Effect.
Interesting premise, poorly executed.
