Fantastic Four Cast Coming Together

Sci-Fi Wire has the details about the film, but it looks like Michael Chiklis (The Shield) will play Ben Grimm, Ioan Gruffudd (King Arthur, Horatio Hornblower), Reed Richards, and Chris Evans (Not Another Teen Movie) as Johnny Storm.

Jessica Alba (Dark Angel, Sin City) is the front-runner to play Sue Richards.

Note: I’m guessing at the Chris Evans mentioned in the article. There are four actors with that name in IMDB. The one I picked best matches the age needed for the role. Anyone have any better data, please post it.

Yes, quite a travesty :/ Hale Barry should have been the obvious choice!

Hey, your other option is Keri Russell. Must control heaving…

Susan Richards is supposed to be a blue-eyed BLONDE! Then again, Catwoman is supposed to be Selina Kyle, a WHITE prostitute turned cat burglar, so what do I know??

Why? She’d look interesting as a blonde if they stick to the way she looks in the comic books. Who were you wanting?

          Someone who can actually act?

You’ve watched Sci-Fi / Fantasy / Comic movies before, no? Since when is acting a requirement ;P

Since Toby McGuire raised the bar on Spider-Man. Does anyone actually like the FF4? I’ve never been a fan of these guys. They’re starting to hit the second string of heroes (in my opinion). What’s next for Marvel Movies? Maybe they’ll have an Iron Fist movie next. The quality is all over the map too… Spidy is the best comic book movies (let alone the best Marvel story). X-Men ranks second in my book. Punisher was awful (Watch “Man on Fire” for an example of what this story should have been). Hulk was alright. I enjoyed Dare Devil (even though I know I’m one of the few that did. Oh, and even though it had Ben Ass-crack.. er.. Affleck in it). Blade was pretty good, if a little over the top. So, I’m not looking forward to FF4 at all.

  2. That’s odd…
today I heard Elisha Cuthbert was the front runner for Sue. Reed did rob the cradle, didn’t he?

  3. Simon Kinberg to write FF
    Simon Kinberg’s info from IMDB.

“Worked on numerous production rewrites, including Charlies Angels II: Full Throttle, Catwoman, Fantastic Four and Elektra.

If the above is any indication , we are only going to very lame plots loosely tied togerther with action scenes. What else has he worked on officially.

    Writer:
XXX: State of the Union (2005) (pre-production)
Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2004) (filming)

FF could be as big a Spiderman and so far it is more to a X-men start. Oh well guess there is always man-thing. duh

  4. FF… and Dr Doom?
    On casting:
Jesica Alba? I must join the chorus that questions their choice of actress. Yes she is good looking, but I would prefer a pale blond woman actress because that is my image of that character. The actress that plays Paige on charmed would seem more qualified for the role.

    On the villian:
Dr. Doom is a good villian; an excellent foil in the comics with the swaggering arrogance that matches his intelligence. That in itself begs for an excellent actor to fill that role. I would relish hearing the canidates for it.

    On the story:
Another has mentioned the credits and style of the director; having already giving us some preview of the possible lack of story. One thing that I enjoyed about Spiderman was the all too human drama we were given. I certainly hope this movie will not simply be a slug fest we will be treated to; but rather an interesting plot with characters and their motivations found within the struggle.
Dr. Doom is a domineering character, a type A personality with great intelligence and drive. He wants control. Reed Richards and the others are, together, his match that have time and again thwarted his attempts. I certainly hope the plot will reflect that.
