only releases that have completely transparent layer
    changes on my DVD players.

Most of the upcoming DVD product news is TV product,

  1. Biscuits! This is your DVD pick of the week, from the mysterious future
A friend of mine picked up volume 2 of Invader Zim! last week at Best Buy,
even though it’s not going to be officially released until Aug 31st; and, as far
as I know, he didn’t create a disturbance in the space-time Continuum to get
    it.

Boy, that second Zim volume gets weirder and weirder. I just got done with
    the
Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom episode, and that can’t be
appropriate for children. I can no longer fault Nickelodeon for canceling the
series, at least not in the way that I fault Fox for canceling Futurama, Family
Guy, and Firefly, All shows that where great, had great potential, and killed
before their time. Invader Zim! is still a great show, and I find it hi-larious.
But Nick has to produce television for children, and I can see how they where
    getting worried.

(oh, and Futurama volume 4, I’m gonna get that one, and its gonna kick ass!
I’ve seen this one in stores already at wally-world.)

Abso-fraggin-lutely. Just watched a few more this afternoon. My friend
picked it up a couple of days ago at the Wausau (Wisconsin) Best Buy, of
course, it doesn’t mean that it’ll be everywhere. Results may vary, Believe at

  2. Kolchak
I vaguely remember the TV series–watched it as a kid and really enjoyed the show. Recently saw some episodes on the scifi channel and still enjoyed it. Didn’t know there were two movies prior to the series, though. The DVD has the two movies.

The comments at the amazon.com link talk about how this show was an inspiration for the X-files, as well as how the actor from Kolchak, Darren McGavin, has had a recurring bit part in the X-files.

Does anyone know approximately how many episodes were filmed for the TV series?

20 episodes, not counting the movies, according to EpGuides.com.
