This year’s winners were announced today at Worldcon 75 in Helsinki, Finland. Due to some rule changes, there appears to be a lot less drama around the whole voting process this year.

I’m way behind on this year’s Sci-Fi, but I did manage to catch Arrival. That had to be the best Sci-Fi movie I’d seen in a long time. Well deserved.
I am really behind with the reading. I’ll have a review of a 2017 novel and a graphic novel next week. Both could be contenders for next year.
N. K. Jemisin’s a good writer, but I wasn’t quite as taken by The Fifth Season as some people, and didn’t read the sequel that won the Hugo this year. YMMV: a lot of people really love her work.
I would agree that Arrival is the best pick for its category, and The Expanse really picked up its game in Season Two.
And Ellen Datlow once took positive note of a story I wrote, so I won’t argue with that pick.
I enjoyed Monstress, that was great!
