Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “Rebecca is wonderful, and is inexplicably the only Hitchcock film to win the Oscar for Best Picture.” Alex says, “As I really like film scores, I’m leaning towards picking up Score.”
Austin Powers was a Bromance Comedy? Apparently I don’t know what Bromance looks like.
Apparently, so is the Sherlock Holmes bundle, and Blazing Saddles (which I can sort of see, but it’s a real stretch).
I think we have to start ignoring Amazon’s labeling on this category.
Does “bromantic comedy” even need to exist as a label?
It’s a fair term for things like Lethal Weapon or Rush Hour, so I wouldn’t begrudge it recognition, just… not here.
To be fair, Amazon didn’t label these, but the distribution company that’s making the movies. They’d have the same “Bromantic Comedy” label at Best Buy, Walmart, etc. I’m fine with the Sherlock Holmes movies being there with the Holmes/Watson relationship, but many of the others didn’t fit my understanding of the term.
