Like Batman: Dead End before it, Grayson seems intent on proving that fan-filmmakers have a better grasp on Gotham City than the major studios– even if this treatment seems decidedly non-canonical.

Which do you download?
At 80+ meg each, do I get the BTS (whatever that is) or the Film?
Behind The Scenes / the Film…
Tough choices?
Re: Behind The Scenes / the Film…
Why Is The ‘Behind The Scenes’ Longer Than The Film?
Re: Behind The Scenes / the Film…
It’s a trailer. The finished product is (I assume) still in post-production.
Re: Behind The Scenes / the Film…
Awww, here I was all ready with a smart-ass comment about how much more
footage you have before you edit it! ;-)
Hmmm…
The acting is, er, comic-book like, to use a euphemism.
And, without giving anything away, how incredibly drunk would you have to
be to throw the punch we see him try on the beach? I’m chuck full of
misgivings on this thing…
Re: Hmmm…
Batman tries the same thing in Death in the Family, under stress, of course. I doubt this will be a masterpiece, but they’ve put an incredible amount of work into it, and there seems (as best as one can tell from a trailer) to be an understanding of the genre, something frequently missing from Hollywood superhero flicks.
I’d go see the movie
Even with its flaws, this trailer looks far, far better than the last two Batman
films. It certainly looks like more thought went into the story and characters
of this small trailer than in the last two films. Considering this was made by a
few people with a small budget, I think they did a fantastic job.
As far as not being canon (i.e. Barbara’s not paralyzed)–I guess you could
put it in the Animated Series universe. At first I thought it was odd that Dick
would come back as Robin rather than Nightwing, but I guess that could be
because he’s specifically coming back to avenge Batman.
From the filmmaker’s site, it looks as if this is all there is–just a trailer. It
looks like they are using it as a “portfolio” piece.
Re: I’d go see the movie
I finally had the chance to explore a little more, and it appears you are correct about the trailer being the film. Still, one wonders what these guys could do, given time and resources.

Re: I’d go see the movie
Well, the bar ain’t high there…
Please, oh Please…
I would absolutely love to see this as a real movie. Of course the chances of that happening are next to zero—but one can always hope for the impossible. Why do so many of these fanfic films (like Batman: Dead End) seem to be so much better than the features?
Suits
Because there are no “suits” to interfere with them.
No marketing department’s drone comes over to tell them how to do things,
no casting director is placing an incompetant celebrity in it to enhance
consummer recognition, etc.
In other words, its done by people who care about the product, not about the
return on the investment. The fewer accountants and lawers that are allowed
to get near the production, the better the product will be. Suits are the
kryptonite to creativity. They make it weak: or kill it, depending on exposure.
