It’s another light week in the post-Christmas rush.
Alien Domicile | |||||||||
Amazon | |||||||||
Comments | Blaine: This is a cheap knock off of the Alien franchise, but I won’t guarantee that it’s worse than the latest official entries.
American Made | |||||||||
Amazon | |||||||||
Comments | Blaine: This features the best performance I’ve seen from Tom Cruise since Collateral, not that I’ve seen a lot of his work. It’s rare that he seems to receive direction beyond “smile big,” but here he clearly did.

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “On the anime front, I’ve seen all of Ninja Nonsense and loved it immensely, but I also know that the jokes aren’t quite for everyone. Otherwise, I recommend the documentary Thank You For Playing.” Blaine says, “My pick is easily The Breakfast Club, which is my favorite John Hughes film.”
Part of me wants to watch Geostorm, just to see if it’s “that bad.”
I know it will be, but the morbid curiosity is strong.
