One great masters of genre fiction has passed away today. It’s difficult to put into words just how influential and powerful a voice she was in the genre.
I remember reading some of her books when I was about 10, and a lot of them went completely over my head at the time. Considering the kind of social conventions she was subverting, this isn’t very surprising (I was an extremely naiive child).
Regardless of that, even I know how many writers she influenced, and will continue to influence.
I should probably raid the used book stores for a bunch of her books this weekend.
