  1. My $0,02 (USD)
Not the absolute strogest episode to date, but not bad either. One thing that really stuck with me was the psychic and his need to get Claire onto the plane. One: It means that everyone on the island is meant to be there. Two: It means they’re not dead (as some rumors purport), but alive and well. Well, sorta.

It means they’re not dead (as some rumors purport), but alive and well. Well, sorta.

I don’t see how that conclusion is justified. I think just the opposite. If the psychic wanted her on that plane to die, then either she is dead or something paranormal happened/is happening that prevented an accurate reading on his behalf. Or, the psychic is just plain wrong (and/or crazy).

At any rate, the true test is whether the baby has the markings of 666 and whether his birth is accompanied by scary choral music.

  2. Dream or Reality?
So, did Ethan (if I remember his name right, and wasn’t that the name of Gabrielle’s son?) attack Claire while she was sleeping that one time, or was it the dream everyone thinks it was?

wasn’t that the name of Gabrielle’s son?

I don’t really see how any of this is spoiler, but here goes… No, her son’s name is Alex and he is only about 16 years old. I think that rules out Ethan.

The attack is one of those things its more fun not to know.

No, her son’s name is Alex and he is only about 16 years old.

        1) We don’t know that Alex is male. There was a distinct lack of pronouns or other gender cues when Danielle was talking about Alex to Sayid. She said “Alex is my child.”
I’m guessing Alex will turn out to be female. It’s one of those names that goes both ways.

        2) It also wasn’t clear how long she’d been on the island. The message was sent 16 years ago, but Alex could have been born well before then.

I’ve got a bizarre theory that Alex was somehow sent away on a boat as a small child, (kind of like Superman) rescued and taken to civilization, where she was adopted and forgot all about her history, only to take a fateful plane trip that was the worst. homecoming. ever. I just haven’t decided if Alex is Claire, Kate or Shannon. I’m leaning toward Shannon, although being raised Australian would probably make more sense.

          Agreed. Good point.

I thought it was clear(er), but now the episode is no longer TiVo’d, so I’ll just have to wait for reruns (which start next week).
