Synopsis

Frosty is getting lonely, so some kids decide to make
him a wife.

High Point

This was a natural combination of seasonal songs that
also forms a
natural sequel.

Low Point

No Karen? We’ve got a load of kids, including a
prominent female
child, and Karen isn’t one of them?

The Review

This isn’t as original as the first special.
We’ve got an
attention craving villain intervening in a happier
version of
Bride of Frankenstein. I give it 3 out of
6.

The animation is exactly what it was in the
original
special. I give it 4 out of 6.

The story is simple, but coherent. I give
it 4 out of 6.

The voice acting is just as stodgy and
emotionless as the
original. Bringing in Paul Frees as Jack Frost was a
good choice, but
he doesn’t seem to get a lot of emotional range out
of that high
pitched voice, either. I give it 4 out of 6.

The emotional response isn’t quite as strong
as for the
original. It was too easy to see where it was all
going. This is
simple holiday fun for a young audience. I give it 4
out of 6.

The production is the Rankin/Bass holiday
special style. I
give it 4 out of 6.

Overall, it’s not as good as the original,
but easily better
than the more prominent and more recent Frosty
Returns. I
give it 4 out of 6.

In total, Frosty’s Winter Wonderland
receives 27 out of 42.
