  1. Sounds promising
Sounds like it could well be good. The quotes from Singer are encouraging, and Kevin Spacey will make a very interesting Lex.

And it’s probably just my imagination, but Brandon Routh seems to look a little bit like Christopher Reeve, at least from the IMDB headshot… heh.

  2. Which Lex?
Nothing I’ve read so far tells whether this is going to be Lex the Businessman or Lex the Notorious Felon. While I enjoyed Gene Hackman, I’ve always prefered the more subtle Lex.

It’s the guys that did the Xmen movies: they aren’t idiots. So, business Lex I suppose.

      I hate comic-relief Lex.

Business Class Luthor is a far more sinister adversary, and they’ve cast an actor more suited to that kind of evil.

And if they go that route, it might even encourage DC to bring back that take on Lex in the comics, where he has reverted to 70s/early 80s Battle Armour Lex.

We’re in the midst of the Second Silver Age my chronology-tearing friend. The pendulum swings.

While I do agree, and I would love ot see it, I’m not holding my breath for it to come ot pass. There are too many bigshots in Hollywood who would look upon such a Lex as a caricature of themselves. I would be quite supprised if we get anything other than “Lex the rich incompitent”. Unless of course they decide to make Lex and Superman pals, then all bets are off.

Lex lutor might be a sinister businessman, but with a
little of hate well directed to Superman, we could see
someone closer to Annibal Lechter. This is a wish of mine,
            not a forecast!
