Comic Television Discussion – Week beginning 10 February 2019

Lots missing items in our Comic Television Discussion, but we do have three DC shows this week, with Arrow, Flash and Black Lightning all dealing with their children.  Is this evidence that the super heroes on television are being targeted at the geeky kids of decades gone but now-grown-up and dealing with their children?  The Gifted also returns, as Reeva goes on a rampage and we get a Morlocks and Purifiers rumble.

Supergirl – S04E12 – Menagerie – With his P.I. shingle newly hung outside his office, J’onn welcomes new clients. Trying to take her mind off what happened at the DEO, Kara decides to team up with J’onn on his latest assignment, which unfortunately ends up tying directly into Alex’s current investigation that involves the villain Menagerie. Meanwhile, Lena shares some news with James, but his reaction isn’t what she expected. Nia invites Brainy to her Valentine’s Day party. (Returns 17 February 2019)

Arrow – S07E13 – Star City Slayer – Oliver and Felicity are disappointed after they learn that William is hiding something from them. Wanting to focus on his family, Oliver steps back from his Green Arrow duties and let’s the team take over tracking down a serial killer. However, when the team becomes targets for the killer, things take a bloody turn.

Black Lightning – S02E13 – The Book of Secrets: Chapter Three: Pillar of Fire – Lynn works on two of the pod kids in a segregated safe room. Meanwhile, Jennifer plots revenge and Jefferson receives some interesting news. Lastly, Anissa makes a shocking discovery.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – S04E09 – Lucha de Apuestas – (Returns 1 April 2019, allegedly) – While the legends continue to find magical creatures Sara goes on a mission to figure out how to save her sister Laurel that died 3 years ago.

The Flash – S05E14 – Cause and XS – After Iris lands in serious danger, Nora races to save her mother. Barry puts the finishing touches on the metahuman cure, leaving Cisco with a rare night off so he decides to take Kamilla on a date.

The Gifted – S02E14 – calaMity – When one of the Inner Circle goes missing, Reeva intensifies security in their compound, but realizes that her plans may have already been exposed. Furious and paranoid, Reeva resorts to violence. Caitlin and Reed consider using the serum to restrict Lauren’s use of her powers, hoping it will help her as she wrestles with nightmares about the Inner Circle and her ancestors. And it’s the battle of two extreme ideologies when the Morlocks and the Purifiers come face-to-face in battle.

Riverdale – S03E13 – Chapter Forty-Eight: Requiem For A Welterweight – Archie steps back into the ring; Alice goes deeper with the Farm; Jughead visits the Heart of Darkness; Veronica juggles dueling villains. (Returns 27 February 2019)

    This is truly the Marvel Age of WTF?

    • And don’t skim over the names Patton Oswalt nor Kevin Smith.

      Anyone else think that if Kevin Smith is writing a villain named Dr. Bong, we’re in for a stoner comedy?
