Sorry this is later than usual. I just got back from
Jasper.
Next up: a review of the first two Red Dwarf
novels.
First, the genre releases:
- AVP
– Alien
vs. Predator: There are also rereleases of the
Alien
series and Predator 2 to coincide with this
release. - Back
To The
Future Trilogy: This has been released before,
but this release
has a significant price drop, so you may want to pick
it up if you
haven’t already. - Sky
Captain
and the World of Tomorrow: Last September’s
release was praised
but unwatched by many. - Superman
– The
Animated Series Volume One: After the success of
Batman – The
Animated Series DC’s other icon got the animated
treatment.
Now, the non-genre releases:
- The
Crying
Game: I haven’t seen it yet, but I can tell you
the twist at the
end! Man, do I hate spoilers. - MacGyver
– The
Complete First Season: Before Richard Dean
Anderson became Jack
O’Neil, he was Angus MacGyver. - Pink
Floyd:
The Wall – 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition:
Wizard of Oz
not included. - Soap
– The
Complete Third Season: A great spoof of soap
operas
continues. - The
Warner
Gangsters Collection: A six movie set of some
classic films. - The
Wire – The
Complete Second Season: A very well respected and
reviewed show.
Finally, the pick of the week. I’ll have to go with
Batman
– The Animated
Series, Volume Two. The second collection of the
classic series.
Although it will likely take three volumes to collect
the entire
series, the first 24 episodes in this collection are
still from the
first season. (The first season included 52
episodes, and the series
only had a total of 85.) This includes such gems as
the “Almost Got
Him” and the Emmy-nominated “Robin’s Reckoning.”
I’ll be picking this
up (along with the Superman set) the first
day of release.
