Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “of this batch, I’d suggest either X-Men Trilogy (or both). Each set has one good movie, one great movie, and one very disappointing movie. The same will be true if they ever put together a comparable Wolverine set.” Alex says, “I’d recommend the Police Story collection. Those are two of Jackie Chan’s greatest films, and I’m incredibly glad to see the Criterion Collection give them their due.”
Police Story are indeed classic Jackie Chan and absolutely worth watching.
They remade Serenity?
Were Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway any good out in the ‘verse?
That was what I was thinking everytime, too. I think I am starved for Firefly so much that I am not sure if that would have been a good thing or a bad thing.
Sixteen Candles— popular in its day, and I admit I laughed at a lot of it then. Some things, even then, didn’t work.
But good lord, does this movie view differently thirty-five years later.
