having only seen the previews
it looks boring. Not that there is really anything new under the sun…. but still.

And the previews for the french dub are… incoherent. They decided to keep the name “boogeyman”, as if that meant anything in french… dumbasses.
But I’m sure it’s a fine, imaginative movie. It’s not as though they just decided to release a horror movie in late january based on a well known incentive to get children to bed… no way that’s gonna be cheap and by-the-numbers. </sarcasm>
Re: having only seen the previews
Oh, and the real ghostbusters busted the boogeyman, so there.
Boogeyman
Unfortunately, the plot of this movie appears to be a retread of Darkness
Falls, which was a terrible movie. A young boy sees his parent stolen
away by a fictional monster and grows up and tries to hunt it down… same
plot. I’m inclined to stay away for that reason alone.
I will say it looks better than “Cursed,” which just looks like Scream
without the humor. They use the same visual gag four times in the trailer
alone… I can’t imagine how many times the actual movie does it. Plus the fact
that Wes Craven hasn’t made a decent movie in about thirty years.
