  1. Welcome back, Lost threads
Happy to see a thread about Lost on this site. I thought the SF police might have prohibited its return.

I thought this might be the best episode of the series. As evidence:

    • Return of Delenn
    • “It’s ok, I’m spry”
    • The ending conversation with Hurley and Charley. A little obvious, maybe, but I still enjoyed it
    • “Dude, is someone shoo…”

And probably a lot more that I forgot. Between this and BSG, it’s a really unexpected comeback for great SF on TV this year. Now if The 4400 can be good this summer…

I agree, this is a great show. I really liked the numbers being shown on the “capsule” at the end.

I also loved the line “She says hey.” to Sayeed when Hurly returns with the battery, that was great.

I hope they reveal something big at the end of the season, but save some stuff up for next year. Now, would I rather know about the numbers first or about the beast???

        • “Dude, is someone shoo…”
        • “She says hey.”

Those were my two favorite quotes also.

I’ve always figured that if I ever won the lottery, that’s exactly what would happen to me ;-) And it would be really interesting to see some stats from the various lotteries as to how often those numbers are picked before and after this episode airs ;-)

I gave the 4400 5 episodes to convince me but it didn’t do any good. Really didn’t like the lead actors…

I agree about this being the best episode. The writers really gave Hurley a great backstory and his acting, like all the others, was impeccable. 6 weeks until any new episodes – what the heck am I going to do? :|

  2. I’m in love
The show just gets better and better.

The numbers have thrown a wrench into all of my theories. I really felt they had all died on the airplane and were on some kind of “judgement island” to go to hell or heaven. Now seeing the unfolding connections they have with eachother I’m just totally baffled.

Aliens maybe? Cross dimensional travel? Could be anything! I love it!

Quantum leap wasn’t afraid to make the connection to “god” and it honestly feels like they’ll shoot the show in that direction eventually.

  3. Excellent!!
What a great episode… Hurley has always been very cool, but this one clinches it. So far, this shows is totally smacking Alias around this season. (for some reason, Alias lost something that I liked.. not sure what it is though.)

I’ve got some theories about that.
first, they’re abandoning the “serial” feel for a more freak-o’-the-week style.
Second, they’ve abandoned the cliffhanger ending. Last week they had one, and then showed the resolution to it in the preview for the following week. they NEVER used to do that. I used to SHRIEK at the end of an episode, that it left me hanging. I haven’t had that in ages with alias. but I had it this week with stargate – which is (although I really like it) the weakest of the series’ I’m currently watching. (SG1, SG:A, BSG, Lost, Alias).

On top of that there’s the fact that in the last three weeks three separate people have had what feels like the exact same conversation with Sloane. And they spent almost all of the year before telling him the same things. either get over it, move on, or stop talking about it and do something about it. come ON people, it’s been YEARS now. I’m not saying the scars should be gone, I’m just saying we don’t need to spend half of every episode watching them deal with it. BLAH. and this is coming from one of the most die-hard alias fans there was during the first three seasons.
They need to wrap up the rambaldi plot, or wherever they’re going with this, and END the show. I really had some hope that that’s what they were doing – like B5, where they knew where they were going, how long it was going to take to get there, and what was going to happen in between. And now it’s starting to wander because it’s finally becoming “successful” instead of “critically acclaimed”, and it’s starting to lose some of what made it innovative. le sigh.

they might be worried that it will end up like farscape where it was very difficult to jump in midship and really appreciate what is going on. some shows like the sopranos seem to be able to get away with it while other shows seem to suffer because of it.
