What Happened

With the help of Captain Hernandez, Trip and the newly-launched starship Columbia, Archer pursues the kidnapped Phlox deep into Klingon territory, as Phlox decides to cooperate with finding a cure to a virus ravaging a Klingon outpost.

Meanwhile, Archer demands that Reed disclose his secret orders when his ties to a mysterious intelligence organization are revealed. Later, when Trip temporarily returns to Enterprise, T’Pol tries to broach an uncomfortable subject with him.

Review

High Points

  1. Reed’s explanation as to how he got involved with Section 31 makes it a bit more plausible.
  2. Much better tension.
  3. The warp merge effects and shots (see Low Points though).

Low Points

  1. The extending the warp bubble subplot was a little thin.
  2. I guess I’m a little spoiled with the three-part arcs. Suppose I’ll have to live with two parts only.

The Scores

Originality: Sure plagues aren’t original, but the genetic twist was nice. 4 out of 6.

Effects: Like I said before, the rationalization for the warp bubble merge was thin, but it was very cool to watch. 5 out of 6.

Story: It’s a plausible and workable solution for the ridge difference. It was also nice to tie in the Augments. 5 out of 6.

Acting: Better stuff. Of course, Schuck’s played a Klingon before. 4 out of 6.

Emotional Response: Much stronger second act with some tension. 4 out of 6.

Production: Same sets as last week, but still good. 4 out of 6

Overall: A good climax to a weaker first act. 4 out of 6.

Total: 30 out of 42

  1. Nice review
Good review. Looks like Manny Coto is upping the ante now that Enterprise is drawing to a close…but I’m still bitter about Enterprise being cut off just as it finds its stride. In fairness, I’m surprised it wasn’t cancelled after the first or second season…it just wasn’t exciting or original or dynamic. Season three had its flaws but was overall a better direction for the show and the characters to take. I think Trek needs a complete overhaul. It is just not relevant any more, and it looks rather staid compared to newer sci-fi such as the 4400 and Galactica.

I’d say season 4, starting to explore, founding/building of the federation and all, is still relevant, and a part of the trek story worth beeing told.

well, by Manny, or anyone else who can write a sifi plot without requiring time-travel…

I think Trek needs a complete overhaul.

The need to fire that idiot Berman.

  2. the vote
out of the list they gave me, “The Andorian Incident” was definitely my favorite… After this series, I’m liking the Andorians a lot… it’s probably mostly due to Shran though.

  3. Speed 3 and Supertrip
“The Klingons put a virus in the computer so if we go under warp 5 we will explode.” OMG ROFL LOL me and my friends were busted up laughing so hard over that sentence we had to pause the tivo for 10 min to get a hold of our self’s, this further proves my point that enterprise and Rick Berman is pissing in the face of all star trek fans. What kind of writers take a famous line from a bad movie like Speed and uses that concept and thinks that no one will notice, funny shit.

“Ok trip instead of telling us what to do we want you to risk your life to come aboard to tell us to reboot the system and pull some boards out, put them back and restart the system.” what was the point? All he did was short out the warp and it back on again. My favorite part was when he was dangling in-between the two ships on a thin string of dental floss.

Another funny part was when archer came into the brig to ask reed for his help when they had one of the Klingons who fucked up the warp drive in the first place SITTING 2 FEET AWAY IN THE NEXT CELL. Hey here’s an idea MINDMELD!

This show gets more and more retarded, but Its like a car wreck on the freeway, your lookin and lookin and you know you have to be somewhere to be but you can’t pull your self away
