Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 1 September 2019

Now that the kids are gone and we can watch what we want, a slew of animated and family fare drops this week, with daily episodes of DuckTales, Big Hero 6, and Netflix’s Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.  Otherwise, I hope you like dark and gritty, because the only offerings are Preacher and the return of Titans.  Anyone else watching anything they’d like to share with the class?

[All synopses (and titles) from Trakt.tv below the cut, except when there really aren’t any.  (If a show’s synopsis is a spoiler to you, do not click More…)]

Preacher – S04E06 – The Lost Apostle – Tulip and Cass track Jesse and the Saint of Killers, while Starr searches for the missing messiah.

Titans – S02E01 – Trigon – With Rachel’s father, Trigon, having successfully turned Dick dark, he sets out to win the others over to his side by embracing their inner darkness. With everyone under Trigon’s control, Rachel and Gar find themselves fighting what seems like a hopeless battle against the powers of Trigon.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance – S01 – When the Crystal of Truth is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land, three Gelflings uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis and an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.

  1. can someone tell me if there’s been a miss numbering for Episode 1 of season 2 of Titans? that felt let a final, rather and a premier.

It was enjoyable, but now I feel like I should be waiting nine months for the next one

    • I got that same feeling, but Trakt (where I get my data) had it listed that way, and there was a large “summer” break between that episode and the previous.

It did feel more like a finale, though, I agree. I suspect the Season Two writers got the story from Season One writers and decided “Nope, we’re going somewhere else. Better clean this part up before we do…”
